FUNDAMENTAL DOCTRINES

I.                    ONE ETERNAL GOD, as supreme deity, represented by the union of three persons: the Father, the Son and he Holy Ghost – The Godhead.  These three are one in unity, purpose and design, but separate and distinct persons in their individuality. (1Jn. 5:7,8  Mt. 3:16,17  28:19  Jn. 14:16,26  Ro. 1:20  Col. 2:9)

II.                  DEITY OF JESUS CHRIST

-         Divine names and titles are given to him.  He is called God, Immanuel, Lord, Lord of All, Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Prince of Peace, Son of God, First and Last, Alpha and Omega, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, the Word of God, etc.

-         Divine offices are given to him.  He is called the Creator, Mediator, Head of the Church, Savior, Judge, Life Giver, the Resurrection and the Life, etc.

-         His divine character is holy, righteous, faithful, true, just, guileless, sinless, spotless, innocent, obedient to God, meek, lowly in heart, merciful, patient, longsuffering, compassionate, loving and humble.

-         As deity He is to be worshipped.  (Mat. 14:33 28:9  Lu. 24:52  Jn. 5:23  He. 1:6  Phil. 2:10,11  Rev. 5:12-14)

-         He is equal with God.  (Jn. 5:19-29  Phil. 2:5-11)

-         His virgin birth.  (Mt. 1:23  Lu. 1:27)

-         His atonement (divine restoration).  The benefits of salvation through Jesus Christ are remitted sin, deliverance from hell, sanctification, justification,  redemption, righteousness, eternal life, citizenship in the family of God and many more has been provided through Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection.  Jesus is now seated at the right hand of God making intercession for us.  (Ro. 8:34)

III.                WORD OF GOD INFALLIBLE

The Word of God is the rule of faith and Christian conduct.  It is truly inspired and forever settled.  (II Tim. 3:15-17  Acts 3:21  II Pe. 1:21  Mt. 24:35)

IV.                           IV.            FALL OF MAN

God crated man upright and good.  “Let us make man in our own image…”  Gen. 1:26.  But man by voluntary transgression violated God causing man’s physical death (which is separation of the body from the soul and spirit) and spiritual death (which is separation from God).  (Gen. 2:17  3:6  Ro. 5:12-19)

V.                                V.           SALVATION THROUGH JESUS CHRIST

The gift of eternal life comes through salvation by Jesus Christ.  There is no other way except through Him.  Because of His death, burial and resurrection, the atoning power of His shed blood and life forever more substantiates our hope of eternal life.  It is belief and faith in this finished work that God manifested through Jesus, God’s only begotten son, that mankind would have opportunity to receive eternal life.  (Jn. 10:1  14:6  6:68  Acts 4:12  I Cor. 3:11)

Salvation is received by recognizing the lost condition of a sinner (Ro. 3:23), being drawn by God’s spirit through ministry (Jn 6:44 16:7-11) Believe Jesus is savior (Jn. 3:16  14:1  20:31), have faith in God being dedicated to Him (He. 11:6  I Jn. 4:15), repenting from the old life to live a life faithful unto God (Mt. 4:17  Lu. 13:3  Acts 17:30), continuing in the will of God (Jn. 8:31  15:9  Acts 13:43  14:22  Ro. 11:22  Col. 4:2  I Tim. 4:16  He. 13:1).  Faithful to the end (Mt. 10:22  He. 3:6,14)

The believer is sanctified:  made clean, holy, set apart to a sacred or holy purpose at the new birth.  (II Thes. 2:13  I Pe. 1:2-4) committed in life to conform to God’s character and will (Ro. 12:1,2  He. 12:14  I Pe. 1:15,16)

VI.                               VI.          BAPTISM IN THE HOLY GHOST

All Christians should expect and earnestly seek the promise of the baptism in the Holy Ghost.  This baptism is not essential for salvation.  (Lu. 11:13  Acts 5:32  Jn. 7:37-39)  The baptism in the Holy Ghost is essential to receiving power for service.  (Lu. 24:49  Jn. 14:12-17  Acts 1:4-8)  There are many evidences of the baptism in the Holy Ghost in a believer.  The most common and widely accepted is the speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance  (Acts 2:4).  Other evidences are prophesy (Acts 2:17,18  10:44-46  19:6) also speaking the word with boldness (Acts 4:31).  Many things such as different kinds of ministries, talents, miracles, manifested in numerous ways an be listed under Jesus’ promise of greater works which is stated in Jn. 14:12.

VII.                             VII.          DIVINE HEALING

God heals through faith in Jesus, power of the Holy Ghost, the Word of God and the blood of Jesus Christ that the body is healed, cured, repaired and delivered from sickness being made whole, sound and healthy.  (Mt.  8:16,17  I Pe. 2:24  Acts 10:38  Ja. 5:14-16).

-         Encourage believers to receive the baptism in the Holy Ghost enabling them with power to live a more effective life for the Lord.  (Acts 1:8  Jn. 14:12)

-         Communion – The Lord’s Supper is a memorial of Jesus’ suffering and death.  (I Cor. 11:26)  It is to be commemorated with the expectancy of His return.  (Mt. 26:26-29  Mk. 14:22-24  I Cor.  11:26)

IX.                                     IX.       THE RETURN OF JESUS CHRIST

Two different events:

-         The catching away (Rapture) – Jesus returns in the clouds in the air (not to the earth) to receive the saints before the seven year tribulation period.  (I Th. 4:16,17  I Cor. 15:51,52  Ti. 2:13  II Th. 2:3-10)

-         The second coming of Jesus Christ (to the earth) will be with His saints at the end of the seven year tribulation period to set up the millennial reign.  (Zech. 14:4,5  Jude 14,15  Rev. 19:11-21)

X.                                         X.       THE MILLENNIAL REIGN OF JESUS CHRIST
